3x THE MOUNTAINEER PINOT NOIR ROSÉ 2023
The Mountaineer 2023 Pinot Noir Rosé pays homage to the pioneering spirit and sense of adventure displayed by mountain climbers confronting the forces of nature and celebrating the beauty and grandeur of the New Zealand Southern Alps. The preparation, passion and commitment are necessary to grow and make wines in Central Otago mirror the challenges faced by these pioneering mountaineers.
Crafted with 100% Pinot Noir Grapes, harvested from Central Otago.
A lovely pale pink hue with a nose of mandarin pith, fennel, watermelon and cherry blossom. The palate is lively with lots of fruit and a nervy acidity to balance the slight sweetness. Ample watermelon, red cherry and red citrus fruit flavours, followed by a slightly savoury finish making it a refreshing and very drinkable wine.
The Mountaineer Rosé 2023 captures the Summer in Central Otago in a bottle.
Tasting Notes
Fresh strawberries, mandarin, watermelon and cherry blossom aromas

Brightly fruited and elegantly fragrant, showing raspberry, crunchy apple and subtle spice aromas, followed by a finely expressed palate that's vibrant and mouth-watering. Restrained and crisp with a lengthy delicate finish. At its best: now to 2026.
Cameron Douglas MS Wine Review - 90 Points - Premium
Raspberry and apricot hues lead to a bouquet of freshness, ripeness and floral highlights. Juicy, salivating, crunchy and fresh as the wine touches the palate. Flavours of grapefruit and raspberry, a mix of peach and red apple, salivating acid line and a floral quality suggesting rose. Dry, balanced, youthful and well made, a wines for summer 2024 imbibing, and will work well alongside summer fare including fresh seafood. Best drinking from late 2023 through end of summer 2025.
The Real Review - Bob Campbell MW Review - 91 Points - 4 Stars
A hint of sweetness nicely balances fruity acidity to give a pleasantly dry finish. Tangy, mouth-tingling rosé with summer berry and subtle spice flavours. Nice purity with moderately intense flavours.

Bright, even, medium blush pink. The nose is vibrant and full, with strawberry, cherry, watermelon, and rich floral aromas. Medium-full bodied, dry-ish to taste, ripe cherry and wild strawberry aromas entwined with watermelon, pepper and rose petals. A silky mouthfeel packed with fruit and black pepper lingers on the finish. This Pinot Noir Rosé is generous with flavours on a smooth palate and a juicy, crisp finish. Serve as an aperitif or match with charcuteries over the next 2-3 years.
