Accolades
“Sweet-spiced cherry and blackberry flavours reside in the heart of this mid-weight, perfumed pinot. Hints of dried flower, cinnamon oak and rosehip tea add complexity to the otherwise fruit-driven core. The tannins are ripe but grainy at this stage, providing a gentle grip across the palate. Ripe and fruity without being a blockbuster, this well-made wine is approachable now but will continue to gain complexity over the coming years.”92 Points - Silver MedalStephen Wong MW — The Real Review
Description
Nestled in the heart of Bendigo, this single vineyard gem epitomises the meticulous craft of hand harvesting.
The winemaking process saw 60% whole bunch fermentation with minimal plunging, allowing for a delicate extraction of flavours. A natural ferment, including malolactic fermentation, unfolded over 18 days on skins, imparting depth and complexity. Following gentle pressing, the wine matured gracefully in oak, 20% of which was new, lending subtle hints of vanilla and spice. Bottled in March 2024, unfined and unfiltered, it captures the essence of its terroir with purity and finesse, inviting you to savour each sip with reverence.
The 2023 Mount Michael Pinot Noir has bright florals, red cherry and dried herbs on the nose. Rich and concentrated on the palate which has spice, red berries and plum. Medium body with lovely texture, fruit is balanced by chalky tannins. Enhanced by a mineral acid line brings it all together.
Drinking beautifully now, but you will be rewarded with further cellaring.
