THE MOUNTAINEER PINOT NOIR ROSÉ 2022
The Mountaineer 2022 Pinot Noir Rosé pays homage to the pioneering spirit and sense of adventure displayed by mountain climbers confronting the forces of nature and celebrating the beauty and grandeur of the New Zealand Southern Alps. The preparation, passion and commitment are necessary to grow and make wines in Central Otago mirror the challenges faced by these pioneering mountaineers.
Crafted with 100% Pinot Noir Grapes, harvested from Central Otago.
A lovely pale pink hue with a nose of mandarin pith, fennel, watermelon and cherry blossom. The palate is lively with lots of fruit and a nervy acidity to balance the slight sweetness. Ample watermelon, red cherry and red citrus fruit flavours, followed by a slightly savoury finish making it a refreshing and very drinkable wine.
The Mountaineer Rosé 2022 captures the Summer in Central Otago in a bottle.
Tasting Notes

Cameron Douglas MS Wine Review
Soft, fragrant and fruity with a core of red cherry and strawberry flesh then apple skin and a touch of quince paste. Plush and soft textured as the wine touches the palate then contrasting acidity along with a youthful power and freshness. Flavours mirror the bouquet leading to a crisp, fruity and refreshing finish. Best drinking from day of purchase through end of summer 2024.
The Real Review - Bob Campbell MW Review
Pale, pretty rosé with subtle raspberry, strawberry and violet flavours. Soft and seamless wine with a creamy texture and a lingering off-dry finish.
Raymond Chan review by Candice Chow
Bright, even pale blush pink. The nose is fresh and vibrant, greeted with field strawberry, raspberry, floral and hints of spice. Medium - light bodied, dry to taste, aromas of field strawberry and raspberry are juicy and vibrant, melded with cherry blossom and a light spice dusting. Fine textured phenolics added substance and silky texture alongside a creamy flow. Lively, juicy acidity carries subtle sweetness to a crisp finish. This appealing Rosé shows balance and a strawberry and cream profile. Serve as an aperitif or match with cold cuts over next 2-3 years.
